Teaming up with Sports

Athletes and sports professionals are often viewed as role models with a civic duty. They are sought after to do the right thing, support the community, and be there when needed to help out and lend a hand to those in need. While it is not mandatory for them to behave in a socially respectable manner, when they act in a negative way, society often looks down upon them which ruins their credibility. Helping the hungry people in America in different ways is a popular way for many athletes to be seen doing the right thing.

Athletes themselves aren't the only ones helping out from the sports world. Owners, General Managers, other employees and teams as a whole are also there for the help. For example, Kraft Foods, which is owned by Bob Kraft who also owns the New England Patriots, teamed up with Feeding America in a campaign called "Huddle to Fight Hunger." Started on August 22, 2010 and running through January 9, 2011, this program is designed to reach a goal of serving up 20 million meals. Information regarding this program and how it works can be found on the Huddle to Fight Hunger section of Feeding America's website.
